This avocado smoothie recipe is an easy way to pack in a ton of those healthy green leafy veggies you're always hearing you should get more of in healthy vegan recipes.
There are tons of green smoothie recipes out there, but I wanted to show you one that doesn't involve any fruit.
Sometimes people don't like fruit, and sometimes they're on a special diet where they need to eliminate or reduce fruit.
This all-veggie green smoothie is really tasty and refreshing - and this comes from a girl who is a total sweet- and fruit-aholic! But if you do want to sweeten it up a bit, you could add a piece of fruit or some pure fruit juice or a tiny bit of stevia.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Makes 1 large smoothie.
Avocado Smoothie Recipe Ingredients
- 1-2 cups fresh greens or sprouts
- 1/4 cup water (approx)
- 1/2 avocado
- 1/2 cup cucumber
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, mint or oregano
- 1 tsp spirulina powder (optional)
- 1 heaping Tbsp hemp protein powder (optional)
Avocado Smoothie Recipe Directions
- Puree everything until smooth. If you have a small blender cup, puree the greens first since they'll shrink down and leave from for the rest of the ingredients.
