Haley whipped up this awesome basil pesto recipe when we got home from an extremely cold walk around Amsterdam. It was so tasty, and although she says pesto can make anything taste good, this combination of flavors was perfect.

You could use this pesto for any number of things. This appetizer is really pretty, simple and refreshing.

Prep time: 20 minutes
Makes enough for 4 as an appetizer

Basil Pesto Recipe Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup fresh basil
  • 2 Tbsp walnuts
  • 2-4 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • salt
  • pepper
Appetizer
  • 1 avocado, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 zucchini, sliced

Basil Pesto Recipe Directions

  1. Make the pesto by blending all of the ingredients together to form a paste. Add olive oil as needed for texture.
